All new colors of Noro Kureyon & Silk Garden are here!!!
The four of us just got back from the annual yarn show in Columbus, Ohio. The getting back part took quite a bit longer than planned as we spent over 6 hours on a couple of tarmacs. When our plane finally took off it was in a thunderstorm which caused all four owners to hold hands! Yikes! Besides having a fabulous time away from the shop we were able to find several new yarns to add to our selection. Most yarns will begin arriving in August, however some sock yarn and cottons will be here in the next week or so. The new lines include Classic Elite, Twinkle, Mission Falls, Mountain colors, Flat Feet sock yarn from Conjoined Creations, Universal yarns, and lots of new buttons and patterns. Beginning in August we are also adding superwash wool from three different distributors. We are still debating Blue Sky Alpaca and you can let us know verbally or through email your thoughts on this.
All About Yarn has started a "Last of the Lot" bin which will be located by the Cascade wool. Skeins will always be 25 % off.
All returns must be accompanied by a receipt. - thank you

We are participating in the Warm Up America Foundation knitted or crocheted afghan sections program. We have free patterns for making the squares available as well as Ella Rae Amity yarn available for purchase. Ella Rae Amity is a 75% acylic and 25% wool blend washable yarn that runs $5.50 for a skein of 200 yards. Each skein should make 4 squares. Once we have enough squares to make an afghan then we will stitch the squares together and send the afghans off to the Warm Up America Foundation. This is a very popular program that has received a lot of publicity. The success of Warm Up America as quoted in the new "Knitting For Peace" book is partly due to the manageability of the knitting, and partly because it allows knitters to make a difference, no matter how big or small their contribution. Each square counts." There are a variety of different stitch patterns available and this can be a good way for new knitters to practice some new stitch patterns as well. Stop in the shop, pick up your supplies and let's help keep America warm.

Overview: We are four long time friends who believe in the philosophy that friends who sit together should knit together. After sharing 15 years of sitting and watching our children at the local baseball fields, soccer fields and hockey rink, we found ourselves facing the empty nest syndrome. We decided to continue sitting together and share thoughts and knitting afforded us the best avenue to achieve this goal. We started knitting in October of 2004 and immediately became hooked. We spent every spare minute knitting as our new obsession began taking over our lives. Soon, we were traveling all over the Minneapolis area exploring every yarn shop we could find. Realizing that we could not get specialty yarn in our home area, Coon Rapids, MN, we thought out loud: "Why not open our own shop." Thus was the birth of "All About Yarn", a specialty yarn shop. Because we like to sit and knit we decided to incorporate this theme into our store and have included a beautiful fireplace and living room setting into the middle of our shop.
Our Products: We have a fun and relaxing atmosphere where beginners as well as advanced knitters will find a cozy family room style knitting area. Our shop carries a wide array of beautiful and reasonably priced yarns from at least fifty different companies, some unique to this area. If you love felting as much as we do then our shop is the place to be. We offer a huge and very colorful selection of wool. We also have hundreds of different yarn choices to create beautiful scarves, shawls, ponchos, tank tops, belts, afghans, sweaters or anything else your creative mind can think of. Our sitting area is perfect for individuals looking for a quiet get away or small groups who love to knit together. We offer classes for all levels and have a wide assortment of knitting accessories, patterns and books.
