Our friend on her last trip to the yarn shop Sept. 11, 2008
Our friend Lauri Blake passed away on Thursday, October 2 of cancer. She will forever be in our hearts. Lauri was with us from the beginning when a group of us soon to be empty nest mothers decided to learn to knit. After a couple of weeks we began taking "field trips" to specialty yarn stores throughout the Mpls area. We called them "field trips" because Lauri was a teacher and Rox and Cheryl also worked in the schools. It wasn't long before we decided we should have our own shop to knit and hang out in, our very own clubhouse we joked. Eventually our clubhouse joke turned into a business proposition and well you know the rest of the story. Lauri's first love was teaching so she and a few other friends decided to stay with their own career choices and the four of us opened the shop. The first year we were opened, Lauri was here every weekend knitting and meeting people with us. She truly loved this shop and her friends. Lauri, we are going to miss you!
